+++++++2009-04-21 Our Urals were standing out in the crowd with the 2009 black Patrol and Brian's 2007 Gear-Up. I noticed how informed the people became since the first Halifax Biker Bash. Brian was a great help, not only by being there with his Ural as last year, but also by showing his selection of great Ural YouTube movies using his setup.
+++++++2009-04-17 Getting ready for the Halifax Biker Bash. Showtime tomorrow and Sunday. We did not get the Sahara limited edition in time but regardless we will enjoy it. Brian's bike as always is an attraction just by itself.
+++++++2009-04-12 I had a visit with Bill from Poland, Maine who had his most successful year with his Ural dealership since I have known him. He is one of the few very committed attendees of the yearly meetings at IMWA in Redmond and also our next door neighbour.
+++++++2009-03-15 Meet our newest MUDder (Maritime Ural Driver) Alexander McKenzie - the Pirat, the Poet and the Protester. He invited us for a wonderful afternoon and evening at the Trenton Legion with him and his friends for St. Patrick's Day, yesterday.
+++++++2009-03-10 Brian came for a visit driving his Gear-Up and brought a couple of cigars. We enjoyed them and the beautiful sunny day. He again as last year will be helping us at the Halifax Biker Bash 2009.
+++++++2009-02-15 The 'SAHARA' is coming to Canada. Arrival time approx. April 2009. This limited edition Ural sidecar motorcycle was available last year only in Europe by the name of 'PUSTINJA'.
+++++++2009-02-11 The team of Ural Motorcycles Linz is organizing the Ural Pilgrimage 2009 or Ural Pilgerreise 2009. The first trip, July 23-31, is almost booked out, the second, July 30-August 7, has more spaces still available.

+++++++2008-12-13 Our first 2009 Ural Sidecar Motorcycle arrived yesterday. Rob our 'Setup Guy' did exactly that, set up same today with John's help, who is now the owner of this 2009 Tourist. Obviously one possible solution to transfer knowledge from an old MUDder* to a new MUDder*.
*a MUDder is a 'Maritime Ural or Dnepr driver' .
+++++++2008-11-18 I finally had time to create a picture album of my 2008 drive to the Ural dealer meeting at IMWA in Redmond. About half way there, I met Gerry for the first time who took the time to show me the most beautiful Lake of the Woods. Gerry, thanks so much for doing this and for the picture below.

+++++++2008-08-19 CURD on the Atlantic, the official Canadian rally of 2008, see pictures of the three day event. For the statistics we had 34 humans and 1 dog from 4 Canadian provinces in attendance, 29 Nova Scotian lobsters and 17 motorcycles, including 14 Urals.
+++++++2008-07-24 Saturday's July 26th Rally. We will meet in Mahone Bay (NS) across from the three churches parking area, probably at 11 am. (We are leaving from here 1 Yankeetown Rd. at 9 am. with a few guys and then meet the rest after in Mahone Bay.) We all go for a ride and something to eat after. Hope to see you there.

+++++++2008-06-19 Harry from 'Route 333 Shuttle' attended the 'Americade' in Lake George, New York State. He just came to see me and gave me a paper clip from the local newspaper there. Notice that the picture was taken on Canada Street. He has a new Duro tire on the back. They look great and I wonder who they are. Thanks Harry.
+++++++2008-05-21 The official '08 Canadian Ural/Dnepr Riders Group rally 'CURD on the Atlantic' will be held at our location August 15-17. Mike Palmer, CURD head cheese alias 'Gummiente' and his wife in spe Angie will be attending. We are also looking forward to have Canada's Ural & Dnepr godfather, the most famous Ken Beach and his wife Barb with us. Invitations to Ural Canada and other extended Ural family members will go out as I write this.

+++++++2008-04-21 Ural Canada just informed us about another price increase by the middle of this year. It's official - Tourist, Patrol, Gear-Up and Retro will each increase by 1,400$. There are still some Patrol and Arctic left at the original 2008 PriceList.

+++++++2008-03-18 Visiting the Trunks of beautiful Steinmark located in the Spessart forest of Bavaria. Jo Trunk alias 'scheppertreiber' is besides many other qualities the #1 contributor to the German Ural/Dnepr forum. Max Trunk also called the 'hero of Steinmark' in an 2005 issue of the German sidecar motorcycle magazine 'Motorrad-Gespanne' might still be the youngest sidecar motorcycle driver in Germany.

+++++++2008-01-14 We will be at the Biker Bash Trade Show in Halifax April 12th and 13th, 2008 to be held at the Exibition Park, 200 Prospect Road. +++++++2007-11-12 I am back from the dealer meeting and technical training in Redmond. I took 9 days to Seattle and 9 days back home to Halifax. The tail winds going back made up for the time changes on the way. Big thanks to Ural Canada and IMZ-Ural in Redmond for their help getting me back on the way.
+++++++2007-10-27 The 2008 Model Year Improvements include new valves and valve guides, progessive valve springs and seats, stronger new clutch springs and push rod sealing caps, new air box with modified air intake now just in black not chrome, modified catalytic converter, front and rear swing arm with ball bearings, new Sachs shock absorbers, new brake springs, new tool set and a few more other changes. On first glance not as many as in 2007 but most are significant to meet the new European emission regulations starting in 2008 (EURO3). But best of all, all the Ural characters remained unchanged and the Ural soul is intact.

This morning we shot a scene for the 'An accountant's tale' by Michael Aitkens, Producer, in front of a 180 year old barn and part of a museum in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. Also, Brian came for a visit this afternoon. Notice the child seat he put in his sidecar.
+++++++2007-09-09 Craig Willson, CURD-VP Atlantic Region, came to pick up his bike today and this is what happend - Tony, Rob and Murray joined with their Urals to say hello to the man from PEI, to help load his Patrol on to the trailer and to join him for brunch in the best spirit of the Atlantic hospitality.
+++++++2007-08-30 Gary Lynde, from near Watertown, NY came for a visit August 23 with his 2007 black Patrol, while Craig Willson from Prince Edward Island was here on his 2005 Patrol. Gary took the ferry from Bar Harbour, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He just emailed me below picture - he (on the right) made it home safely after 3,400 km. Well done, Gary.
+++++++2007-08-12 Ron Miles, one of the most experienced mechanic of Ural motorcycles came for a visit today. Ron is riding a 1994 Ural Sportsman in Des Moines (Iowa), were he lives.
+++++++2007-08-03 New limited edition URAL PUSTINJA (Russian for 'the desert'). 35 available end of this year - only for some special authorized European Ural dealers. The bike has a search light for sending SOS for example, all Heidenau knobby tires, ammo-box, gas canister and first aid kit box all in dirty yellow-grey-brown, no chrom.

+++++++2007-05-14 Just completed the first test drive of the 2007 Ural Gear-Up over 30 km. The 2007 Model Year Improvements are working and have made a huge positive difference in the driving experience. The gears go in and out like butter. Going to second gear while driving towards the red light or even neutral while driving is easily possible. The bike runs beautifully in lower rpms, as in slowing in 4th gear to a 50 km/h and later accelerating - very smooth. Even though the bike is practically brand new, it was too easy to go up to speed, so I had to watch not to go beyond 70 km/h. The only negative thing are the new second signal lights (on the right side of the bike) required by Transport Canada on the bike itself. I would call them four way flashers. This is confusion and in my mind simply dangerous. I strongly recommend taking the light bulbs out and/or taping the signal lights over.

+++++++2007-04-25 I am back from Seattle, finally completing my journey from last year, where I had to leave my Ural Wolf in Seattle due to an accident. On my way home while in Brockville Ontario, I finally met the very kind and good looking Mike "Gummiente" Palmer alias CURD Head Cheese, who is well capable driving his 'DOUK' with the sidecar up in the air.
+++++++2007-03-29 We will be at the International Motorcycle Show in St. John, New Brunswick at the Exibition Park at McAllister Drive starting Friday March, 30th at 12:00 and ending Sunday April 1st at 16:00. This time we will put Rodney's Tourist on display, since we are still out of bikes.

1. Duro tires, supposed to last 2–3 times longer than the Russian tires.
2. Heidenau tires, approx. 20-25% more expensive than Duro tires.
3. First (aid) kit Herzog gears, includes the crankshaft and camshaft timing gear and the alternator gear.
4. Second kit Herzog gears, converts the Russian gearbox to Herzog gears.
5. Italian horn.
Prices to follow. Heidenau and Herzog parts are 'made in Germany'.

Please find a list of our bikes for sale under Motorcycles for sale and I suggest to reserve your Ural quickly since the next four containers coming from Russia are sold out due to already high sales volumes in Canada. There is very little room for us to fill in anything else then what we have posted - until Summer.
+++++++2007-02-15 Ian emailed me the picture below of Tony going home from work (Bedford Highway in Halifax) in a major snowstorm, 2006-12-04 at 5:20 pm. Many people have noticed Tony driving that day and I have been talked to about this amazing event several times. Thanks to Ian and Tony we now have a phantastic image.
+++++++2007-02-05 We had to cancel our space at the Biker Bash in Halifax held March 17th, 2007. Our next bikes have not left Russia yet and since we are all sold out, we would have no bikes for the show.

+++++++I arrived in Redmond, Sunday October 22, 2006. Despite an accident in Sault Ste Marie, freezing temperatures, high winds, rain and snow showers my Ural Wolf has performed flawlessly throughout all these harsh conditions.
